Alternative Chiropractic

A Clinician’s Manual on
Diversified Diagnostic and Therapeutic Applications
in Conservative Health Care

Second Edition
by Dr. Richard H. Tyler

This is the chiropractic text written by Dick Tyler, author of West Coast Bodybuilding Scene. It’s a medical reference for chiropractic doctors interested in expanding their practices beyond basic adjustments; it’s a manual covering therapeutic techniques less often used by general chiropractic practitioners.

Alternative Chiropractic covers the many diversified diagnostic and therapeutic procedures needed to form comprehensive treatment protocols. Dr. Tyler explores many characteristics of alternative therapeutics available to those doctors who wish to offer their patients protocols that follow natural forms of support and treatment.

Dick has a practice in Rocklin, California, and has been practicing for over 35 years. He was Arnold’s first chiropractor, Arnold was Dick’s first patient, and it was Dick who was instrumental in Franco’s entrance into the chiropractic field.

Dr. Tyler served as the editor of The Chiropractic Association, and as the associate editor for the news publication Dynamic Chiropractic. Numerous Tyler-authored papers have been published in professional journals; he’s been a contributor to The Osteopathic Physician, and has lectured on diversified diagnostic procedures, nutrition, homeopathy, herbal medicine and various alternative treatment modalities.

Dick is presently a member of the California Chiropractic Association and currently serves on the California Chiropractic licensing board, appointed by his former patient, now the Governor of California.

Dr. Murray R. Susser, former president of the American Academy of Medical Preventics writes, “I encourage all of you to read this book, and profit by it.”

Notes Dr. A. Earl Homewood, former president of the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, “It is hoped that colleges will use this material to produce real primary care physicians.”

This is a valuable text to chiropractors interesting in expanding your practices. Dick feels the chiropractic profession is at a crossroad. He hopes this text will contribute to the decision making each D.C. must make when that time comes.

With over 300 pages, this text contains more than 50 chapters with many illustrations, appendices, a comprehensive bibliography and is fully indexed. This book is an essential addition to the libraries of those health professionals who want to give the public proven alternatives to needless drugs and surgery.

“We are primary care providers. This means we must be the best diagnosticians we can, and should not demure from exercising our therapeutic judgment in all manner of human pathological conditions. We are the products of a sophisticated educational process. We should use what we have learned to its fullest potential. To do more is to deal in excess, but to do less is a disservice to those we seek to serve. I hope this volume extends this perspective.” Dr. Richard H. Tyler, 2005

Alternative Chiropractic is 304 pages, hardcover, 8×10 format and includes photographs, illustrations, appendices, a bibliography and suggested reading, and is fully indexed.
