Specializing in niche publishing enables On Target to bring the thoughts of some of the sharpest writers and coaches in the strength industry to print… and often to do it very fast. While a mainstream publisher may be still considering a project, or perhaps for financial reasons declining a terrific author who hasn’t yet proven him- or herself, I’m able to quickly respond to new trends in the industry. What you’re learning in the gym and on the field won’t wait for the larger publishers, and that’s where a small publisher like On Target can shine.

Follow | Subscribe

With writers like Dave Draper, Dan John, Michael Boyle, Gray Cook, Dick Tyler and Stella Juarez Post, you know you’re getting original thinking, new ideas and enjoyable reading, things often lacking in mainstream books in our field. And as the line-up expands to including DVDs, you can expect more terrific material from the personalities that make the strength and conditioning world such a great place to invest our energies.

Summer 2010 saw Gray Cook’s new book, Movement, and seminar DVDs from Mark Reifkind, Dave Whitley and Tracy Reifkind, winter 2011 produced Dan John’s new Mass Made Simple guidebook. On tap for spring 2011 is a new Dan John workshop DVD, Intervention: Course Corrections for the Athlete and Trainer, and in the fall we’ll be filming Gray Cook’s Perform Better Pre-Con in Long Beach, California.

Winter 2009 marked Michael Boyle’s new contribution, Advances in Functional Training, in which he expands on the material of his huge selling book, Functional Training for Sports, a book that moved many of us into a solid, new training methodology.

I’ll keep my eyes open and ears to the ground for new material to teach you a thing or two and to give you a grin along the way. Until then, look for opportunities to support the writers, presenters and small publishers that allow our industry to continue to evolve. Your support really does make a difference.
